The Tequendama Falls (Spanish: Salto del Tequendama) is a 132 m (433 ft) high waterfall of the Bogotá River, at a height of 2,385 m (7,825 ft) above sea level, located 32 km (20 mi) southwest of Bogotá in the municipality of Soacha (department of Cundinamarca). The river emerges through a rocky gorge that narrows to about 18 m (59 ft) at the edge of the fall. During the month of December the falls dry up completely.
