also known as Chaparrastique volcano (2130 m / 6,990 ft), near city of San Miguel.
First stamp in a set of 4 (the first stamps of El Salvador), issued on 17.01.1867.
Face value: 1/2 real.
Printed: Engraved.
Printed by American Bank Note Company, New York, in September 1866.

- No. 1 in all catalogues.

* It is usually considered that the volcano represented in this series is the San Miguel, but probably the image of a volcano was wanted, without specifying which one. Some author thinks that it is the Izalco volcano.
