The Postal Union of the Americas and Spain (Unión Postal de las Américas y España, UPAE), which in 1990 was expanded and renamed Postal Union of the Americas, Spain and Portugal (Unión Postal de las Américas, España y Portugal, UPAEP), is an association of the postal authorities of 26 countries. It was founded in 1911 as Unión de Correos Sudamericanos (Union of South American Posts) at the initiative of Francisco García y Santos, General Director of the Uruguay Post Office; between 1921 and 1931 it was called Unión Postal Panamericana (Pan-American Postal Union). It is part of the Universal Postal Union (UPU) as a restricted union. It is based in Montevideo, Uruguay. Its first antecedent was the Unión Grancolombiana, created in 1838 and made up of Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela.

HemisFair '68 was the official 1968 World's Fair (or International Exposition) held in San Antonio, Texas, from April 6 through October 6, 1968. The theme of the fair was "The Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas", celebrating the many nations which settled the region. The fair was held in 1968 to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the founding of San Antonio in 1718. More than thirty nations and fifteen corporations hosted pavilions at the fair.

The Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT) is an intergovernmental organization and operates in conjunction with telecom service providers, manufacturers of communications equipment, and research and development organizations active in the field of communication, information and innovation technologies. It was founded on the joint initiatives of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The APT was established by an international treaty titled: Constitution of the Asia Pacific Telecommunity concluded in Bangkok on March 27, 1976 and came into force on February 25, 1979. After the treaty came into force, APT was formally organized on July 1, 1979.
