The Hàm Rồng Bridge (Vietnamese: Cầu Hàm Rồng), spanning the Mã river, is situated 4.0 km (3 mi) northeast of Thanh Hóa city. Originally built by the French in 1904, during the colonial era in Vietnam, it was sabotaged by the Viet Minh in 1945. From 1957, the Vietnamese started rebuilding it and completed in 1964. In 1965 during the Vietnam War, it was the objective of many attacks by US Air Force and US Navy aircraft which would fail to destroy the bridge until 1972, even after hundreds of attacks. The bridge was restored in 1973. The final bridge was 160 m (540 ft) long, 17 m (56 ft) wide, and about 15 m (50 ft) above the river. The bridge consists of two spans of steel girders, in the middle there is a railway track, on both sides there is a car track and a pedestrian sidewalk.

The Đa Nhim Hydroelectric Power Station is on the Đa Nhim River, in Lâm Đồng Province. The construction, with funding from the Japanese government, started in April 1961 and was finished in January 1964. Electricity produced here supplied the central region of Vietnam but was unable to reach the large industrial centers in Saigon and Biên Hòa, which had to rely on oil for electricity generation. The dam is located at an approximate altitude of 1,000 m (3,280 ft) above sea level, and is about 1,500 m (4,920 ft) long and 38 m (124.6 ft) high. The water volume of the reservoir is 165 million m³.

Đà Lạt is a city, capital of Lâm Đồng province, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam (at an altitude of 1,500 m, 4,900 ft above sea level), founded between 1907 and 1912 as a vacation town by the French colonizers with the name of Dalat. Its population, in 2010, was 211,696 inhabitants. It is crossed by the Cam Ly river, in whose course several waterfalls are formed, like the one represented in the stamp. It is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Vietnam.

Hạ Long Bay or Halong Bay (Vietnamese: Vịnh Hạ Long) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Quảng Ninh Province, in northeastern Vietnam. Administratively, the bay belongs to Hạ Long city, Cẩm Phả city, and is a part of Vân Đồn District. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various shapes and sizes. It has an area of around 1,553 km² (600 sq mi), including 1,960–2,000 islets, most of which are limestone. The core of the bay has an area of 334 km² (129 sq mi) with a high density of 775 islets.

Lê Lợi (Lam Son, Thon Hoa Province, c. September 10, 1384 - September 5, 1433) who received the nickname Lam Sơn động chủ (Lord of Lam Son) and whose official title was Bình Định vương (Prince of Pacification), was a Vietnamese politician, rebel leader, and later monarch of the restored kingdom of Đại Việt, and founder of the second Lê dynasty after Đại Việt was conquered in 1407 and briefly incorporated into the Ming Empire of China. In 1418, Lê Lợi and his followers took up arms against the Ming laws and nine years later, in October 1427, after the victorious battle of Xương Giang (remembered on this stamp) they managed to drive the Ming armies out of Vietnam and liberated the country of Chinese rule. After ten years of war, Đại Việt regained its status as an independent state, officially recognized by the Ming Empire. The site of this battle was classified as a Special National Historic Site in 2020.
