The Railroad viaduct Koblenz-Felsenau or Koblenz-Aare Railway Bridge (German: Aarebrücke Koblenz) over the Aare River, between the stations of Koblenz and Felsenau, in the canton of Aargau, very close to its mouth in the Rhine and the border with Germany, it was built between 1891 and 1892 by the Schweizerische Nordostbahn as part of the Rhine Valley Railway, for the Stein-Koblenz line. It is a 236 m (774 ft) long single track bridge designed by engineer Robert Moser. Since 1994, only freight trains have run through it.

Lake Moesola (Italian: Laghetto Moesola) is located in the Lepontine Alps, at 2,063 m (6,768 ft), at the top of the San Bernardino Pass, in the municipality of Mesocco, canton of Grisons, near Italian border. Its length is 315 m (1,033 ft) and its width is 150 m (492 ft). Its depth varies between 5 and 10 m (16 and 33 ft). It is fed by the Moesa River and by various streams. In the lake there is a large island, in the shape of a fish, and two smaller islands. On the stamp you can see, in the background, the Piz Uccello.

The Silvretta Alps are a mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps shared by Tyrol, Vorarlberg (both in Austria) and Graubünden (Switzerland). The Austrian states of Tirol and Vorarlberg are connected by a pass road (Silvretta Hochalpenstraße at 2,032 m, 6,666 ft). The majority of the peaks are elevated above three thousand metres and are surrounded by glaciers.

The Matterhorn; in Italian, Cervino; in French Cervin, is an isolated mountain of the Alps, straddling the main watershed and border between Switzerland and Italy. It is a large, near-symmetric pyramidal peak whose summit is 4,478 m (14,692 ft) high. The mountain overlooks the Swiss town of Zermatt, in the canton of Valais, to the north-east and the Italian town of Breuil-Cervinia in the Aosta Valley to the south. The first ascent of the Matterhorn was in July 1865 from Zermatt by a party led by Edward Whymper; just three days later, on 17 July 1865, Jean-Antoine Carrel and Jean-Baptiste Bich reached the summit from the Italian side.

The Rhine Falls (German: Rheinfall) is the most powerful waterfall in Europe. The falls are located on the High Rhine on the border between the cantons of Schaffhausen and Zürich, next to the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland, near the German border. They are 150 metres (490 ft) wide and 23 metres (75 ft) high. In the winter months, the average water flow is 250 m³/s (8,800 cu ft/s), while in the summer, the average water flow is 600 m³/s (21,000 cu ft/s). The highest flow ever measured was 1,250 m³/s (44,000 cu ft/s) in 1965; and the lowest, 95 m³/s (3,400 cu ft/s) in 1921. The Rhine Falls were formed in the last ice age, approximately 14,000 to 17,000 years ago, by erosion-resistant rocks narrowing the riverbed.

Saint-Gotthard Massif (German: Sankt-Gotthard-Massiv; Italian: Massiccio del San Gottardo) is a mountain range in the Alps in Switzerland, located at the border of four cantons: Valais, Ticino, Uri and Graubünden. It is delimited by the Nufenen Pass on the west, by the Furka Pass and the Oberalp Pass on the north and by the Lukmanier Pass on the east. The homonymous Gotthard Pass, lying at the heart of the massif, is the main route from north to south (seen on the stamp). Three major rivers take their source in the Gotthard Massif: the Reuss, Rhine and Ticino. A fourth river, the Rhône, takes its source in very close proximity of the massif. The highest peaks of the massif are Pizzo Rotondo (3,192 m; 10.472 ft) in the southwest, Pizzo Centrale (2,999 m; 9,839 ft) near the center and Piz Gannaretsch (3,040 m; 9,974 ft) in the northeast. There are three long tunnels traversing the Gotthard Massif: Gotthard (Rail) Tunnel, railway culmination tunnel (built 1882, 15 km); Gotthard Road Tunnel, motorway tunnel (built 1980, 17 km); and Gotthard Base Tunnel, railway lowest-level tunnel (built 2016, 57 km).

The Finsteraarhorn, 4,274 m (14,022 ft) above sea level, is a mountain lying on the border between the cantons of Bern and Valais. It is the highest mountain of the Bernese Alps and the most prominent peak of Switzerland. In 2001 the whole massif and surrounding glaciers were designated by UNESCO as part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch World Heritage Site. To its west lies the Fiescher Glacier, the second longest in the Alps. The first ascent was for a long time a controversial matter, but it is considered that the first people to reach the top, on August 10, 1829, were two guides on an expedition organized by Franz Joseph Hugi, who had failed in his attempt a year before.

Piz Palü is a mountain in the western Rhaetian Alps, in the Swiss canton of Grisons, on the border with the Italian region of Lombardia. It is a large glacial massif belonging to the Bernina range, with three main peaks: the main or central summit (Muot dal Palü) 3901 m (12,798 ft); the eastern summit (Piz Palü Orientale), 3,882 m (12,736 ft) and the western summit (Piz Spinas), 3,823 m (12,543 ft). On the north side of the mountain are four glaciers.

The Ägerisee (Lake Aegeri) is a 7.3 km² (2.8 sq mi) lake of glacial origin in the Schwyz Alps, at 724 m (2,375 ft) above sea level. Its length is 5.4 km (3.4 mi), its maximum width is 1.4 km (0.87 mi), and its mean depth is 49 m (161 ft). It belongs to the canton of Zug. Its main tributary is the Hüribach and empties through the Lorze. On its banks are the municipalities of Oberägeri and Unterägeri. Since 1992 it has been used as a drinking water reservoir.

The Lavaux Vineyard Terraces, stretching for about 30 km (19 mi) along the south-facing northern shores of Lake Geneva from the Chateau de Chillon to the eastern outskirts of Lausanne in the Vaud region, cover the lower slopes of the mountainside between the villages and the lake. Although there is some evidence that vines were grown in the area in Roman times, the present vine terraces can be traced back to the 11th century, when Benedictine and Cistercian monasteries controlled the area. It is an outstanding example of a centuries-long interaction between people and their environment, developed to optimize local resources so as to produce a highly valued wine that has always been important to the economy. Date of Inscription in the UNESCO World Heritage List: 2007.

Taney Lake (in French, Lac de Taney or Tanay) is a small mountain lake on the Alps, in the canton of Valais, belonging to the Rhone basin. It is at an altitude of 1408 m (4,620 ft) above sea level. Its area is 0.17 km² (0.07 sq mi), its length is 939 m (3,081 ft), and its maximum width is 270 m (886 ft). To the northwest of the lake rise the mountains of Le Grammont (2,172 m, 7,126 ft) and Les Jumelles (2,215 m, 7,267 ft, visible on the stamp).

Naafkopf, also called Schneetälispitz, with an altitude of 2,571 m (8,430 ft) is a mountain in the Rätikon mountain range in the western central Alps. The summit, in the shape of a cross, is located exactly on the border between the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, the Swiss canton of Grisons and the southernmost part of the municipality of Schaan, in Liechtenstein.

Falknis is the westernmost peak of the Rätikon mountain range, in the western central Alps, with slopes in the Swiss canton of Grisons and in the Principality of Liechtenstein. Its altitude is 2,562 m (8,406 ft).

Spannort is a very irregularly shaped mountain in the Uri Canton Alps, made up of two peaks: the Gross Spannort, 3198 m (10,492 ft), and the Chli Spannort, 3,140 m (10,300 ft). The Gross Spannort is almost entirely surrounded by glaciers, the largest being Glatt Finn. The Gross Spannort was first climbed in 1867 by a group of British mountaineers. On the night of December 28, 1961, a landslide occurred at Chli Spannort, from which more than a million m³ of rock fell.

Mount Pilatus (Pilatus berg, in German) is a mountain massif of the Pre-Alps overlooking Lucerne, in Central Switzerland. It is composed of several peaks, of which the highest, named Tomlishorn, measures 2,128.5 m (6,983 ft). The summit can be reached by a cog railway opened in 1889, as well by as aerial panoramic gondolas and cable cars. The first documented ascension took place in the 14th century.

The Diablerets (in French, Les Diablerets) are a huge ice-covered mountain massif of the Alps, culminating at the Sommet des Diablerets at 3,210 metres (10,530 ft) above sea level and straddling the border between the Swiss cantons of Vaud and Valais. The northeastern part of the massif stretches also into the canton of Bern. The mountain is covered by two distinct glaciers, the largest being the Tsanfleuron Glacier and the highest being the Diablerets Glacier.
