Taney Lake (in French, Lac de Taney or Tanay) is a small mountain lake on the Alps, in the canton of Valais, belonging to the Rhone basin. It is at an altitude of 1408 m (4,620 ft) above sea level. Its area is 0.17 km2 (0.07 sq mi), its length is 939 m (3,081 ft), and its maximum width is 270 m (886 ft). To the northwest of the lake rise the mountains of Le Grammont (2,172 m, 7,126 ft) and Les Jumelles (2,215 m, 7,267 ft, visible on the stamp).
