Ouaddaï (Arabic: وداي) is a region located in the south-east of Chad, and it borders with Sudan. Its capital at Abéché. Prior to 2002 it was known as Ouaddaï Prefecture; in 2008 the southern portions of Ouaddaï (the Sila Department and Djourf Al Ahmar Department) were split off to become the new Sila Region. The region was the heartland of the former Ouaddaï Empire, or Wadai Sultanate, which existed from the early 16th century until 1911 when it was conquered by France in the Wadai War. As per the 2009 census, the region has a population of 721,166. The main ethnolinguistic groups are the Assangori, Baggara (generally speakers of Chadian Arabic).

The greater kudu (Tragelaphus strepsiceros) is a woodland antelope found throughout eastern and southern Africa. Despite occupying such widespread territory, they are sparsely populated in most areas due to declining habitat, deforestation, and poaching. Greater kudus have a narrow body with long legs, and their coats can range from brown/bluish grey to reddish brown. They possess between 4 and 12 vertical white stripes along their torso.

Kiribati is a member of the Pacific Community, the Commonwealth of Nations, the IMF and the World Bank, the Pacific Islands Forum, the Alliance of Small Island States, and a full member of the United Nations since 1999. Before its independence it was called the Gilbert Islands, in honor of Thomas Gilbert, who sighted some of the islands in 1788.

Banaba (also known as Ocean Island) is a solitary raised coral island west of the Gilbert Island chain, it is the westernmost point of Kiribati, lying 298 km (185 mi) east of Nauru, which is also its nearest neighbour. It has an area of 6.29 km2 (2.43 sq mi) and the highest point on the island is also the highest point in Kiribati, at 81 metres (266 ft). The population, in 2020, was 330. Kefalonia or Cephalonia (Greek: Κεφαλλονιά) is the largest of the Ionian Islands and the 6th largest island in Greece. The island’s total area is 786.58 km2 (303.70 sq mi). Its capital city is Argostoli. In 1864, Kefalonia, together with all the other Ionian Islands, became a full member of the Greek state. Important natural features include Melissani Lake and the Drogarati caves. The island's highest mountain is Mount Ainos, with an elevation of 1,628 m (5,341 ft). The island has a rich biodiversity, with a substantial number of endemic and rare species. Some areas have been declared a site in the European Union's Natura 2000 network. Olive oil production is a major component of Kefalonia's economy.
