Main
River, in western Newfoundland
Island, is a 57 km (35.41 mi) long river originates in the Long Range Mountains,
at an altitude of 675 m (2,215 ft) above sea level, and enters the sea at White
Bay, near Sop’s Arm
village. It was designated a Canadian
Heritage River in February 2001. It is considered one of the last wild
rivers on the island.
The
moose (in North America) or elk (in Eurasia) (Alces alces) is a member
of the New World deer
subfamily and is the largest and heaviest extant species in the deer
family.
