This stamp belongs to the second issue (continuation of the first) of the Estonian post after independence proclaimed on August 20, 1991 (and officially accepted by the Soviet Union on September 6 of the same year). The Soviet ruble, which was replaced by the crown (kroon) on June 20, 1992, was still maintained as a monetary unit.
