This small mountain group, whose maximum height reaches 2053 m (6,736 ft), is located east of the Principality of Liechtenstein, on the border between this country and the Austrian state of Vorarlberg, to which the eastern slope belongs. It rises at the northwestern end of the Rätikon mountain range, in the central Alps. It is made up of three peaks: the Great Sister (2053 m), the Middle Sister (2048 m), and the Little Sister (2034 m). In 1976 the State of Vorarlberg declared the area of Drei Schwestern a protected landscape.
