Vielsalm (Viye Såm in walloon) is a French-speaking municipality in the Belgian province of Luxembourg, in the Walloon region. Its area is 139.76 km² (5,396 sq mi) and in January 2019 its population was 7,814 inhabitants. It is located in the valley of the river Salm, in the Belgian part of the Ardennes massif: in the municipal area is one of the highest points of the massif and of Belgium, the Baraque de Fraiture, 652 m (2,139 ft) high, where there are three ski slopes.
