Cape Girão is a cliff located on the southern coast of the island of Madeira. It is diamond-shaped and stands at 580 m (1,900 ft) above sea level (it is one of the highest cliffs in Europe). It is located between two river valleys that flow into the Atlantic Ocean. In October 2012, a clear glass walkway was opened at the top of the cliff, offering impressive views.
