The Grand Prix of South America for Road Tourism (Gran Premio de la América del Sur del Turismo Carretera), also known as La Buenos Aires-Caracas, was an international motorsports competition organized by the Argentine Automobile Club in 1948. It was divided into 14 stages and, starting from Buenos Aires on October 20 and ending in Caracas on November 8, it toured six countries: Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Venezuela. The victory went to the Argentine driver Domingo Marimón, with a Chevrolet car. The distance traveled was 9,576 km (5,950 mi).
