Roseau
(in Dominican Creole, Wozeau, pronounced Rozô), located in the
southwest of the island, on the shores of the Caribbean Sea, is the capital and
larged city of Dominica. Its population, in 2011, was 14,725 inhabitants.
The 1,387 m (4,550 ft) Morne Trois Pitons, of volcanic origin, is the second highest mountain in Dominica. It is located in the Morne Trois Pitons National Park, with an area of 68.57 km² (26.47 sq mi). Established in July 1975, it became a World Heritage Site in 1997. On the stamp, it is the mountain in the background.
