There
are two waterfalls of Lily and they are located very close to the town of Ampefy, in the Itasy region, in a
volcanic area in the highlands of the center of the island of Madagascar. The
one represented on the stamp has a height of 16 m (53 ft) and a width of 35 m
(115 ft). According to tradition, the waterfall owes its name to the daughter
of a settler who lost her life when she fell from the top of the fall while
playing, and her body was never found: the original name is Antofoto.
