Ganesh Himāl (Nepali: गणेश हिमाल) is a Himalayan massif located mostly in north-central Nepal, but some peaks lie on the border with Tibet. It is located about 70 km (43.5 mi) northeast of Kathmandu. The highest peak is Yangra (Ganesh I), 7,422 m (24,350 ft). There are three other peaks over 7000 m and another fourteen over 6000 m. The first ascent of Ganesh was made on October 6, 1955 by the Swiss climbers Raymond Lambert, Pierre Vittoz and Eric Gauchar, and by the French Claude Kogan.
