The
1st World Tourism Conference, held in Manila (Philippines) from September 27 to
10 October 10, 1980, was convened to examine a subject which would lead to
modification of outmoded concepts and practices, and would induce governments
as well as the travel industry to reconsider all of their activities in the
tourism sector.
