Lake Antacoto is located in the Junín department, Yauli province, at an altitude of 4,410 m (14,436 ft) above sea level, in the Andes mountain range. It stores 331 million m3 (11,690 ft3) and is part of the system of reservoirs connected with tunnels to supply water to the cities of Lima and El Callao. The construction of the dam ended in 1966.
