Organ Pipes is a formation of columnar jointed basalt located in Mount Cargill (Māori: Kapukataumahaka), a volcanic outcrop which dominates the skyline of northern Dunedin, in New Zealand’s province of Otago. This formation dates back more than ten million years, and is the product of the eruptions of the extinct Dunedin Volcano.
