The Cambambe Hydroelectric Power Station (Portuguese: Central Hidroelétrica de Cambambe) is a plant across the Cuanza River at the border between Cuanza Norte Province and Bengo Province. The construction of Cambambe Dam was started on October 7, 1959 and finished in October 6,1963: its height is 132 m (433 ft) and its length is 300 m (980 ft). Following rehabilitation and expansion (since 2013), the generation capacity of this installation is 960 megawatts (1,290,000 hp).
