Mohni
is a 61.5-hectare island in the Gulf of Finland, 4.5 km (2.80 mi) off the
northern coast of Estonia, on the northeastern side of the Eru Bay. It is 2.3 km (1.43 mi)
long and 250 m (820 ft) wide; it is elongated in a northwest-southeast
direction. The perimeter of the coastline is about 7.48 km (4.65 mi). It
belongs to Kuusalu
Parish in Harju County
and is located in Lahemaa
National Park. The first, wooden lighthouse on the island was built in
1806, and the brick lighthouse was completed in 1852 and rebuilt in 1871. The
island, currently uninhabited, was inhabited until 2017.
